How To Update cPanel License Key

Sometime you may get an error message as “Invalid cPanel license” after logging into WHM.

There are multiple causes when you face such errors like

• cPanel license expiration.
• Change in the main IP of the server.
• License not updated.

If you want to update new cPanel license key, follow the steps:

Verify cPanel license key at the URL below.

https://verify.cpanel.net

After verifying the cPanel license key, login into the server with root user and run following command.

# /usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt

Output of the command:

Updating cPanel license…Done. Update succeeded.
Building global cache for cPanel…Done

Now you should be able to login to WHM and navigate through it.
